Shoulder research

Dr Dwyer is currently working with Dr Pat Henry at Sunnybrook hospital on a study comparing two types of surgery for young patients with massive, irreparable rotator cuff repairs, an extremely difficult and complex clinical issue.  A world first study, this research is evaluating a new technique called superior capsular reconstruction, a technique that uses allograft to augment surgery for patients with massive rotator cuff repairs.
